Ashley Green works for Brown Armstrong as a Certified Public Accountant with more than 15 years of governmental auditing experience. She joined the firm in August of 2007 after graduating from California State University, Chico, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an Option in Accounting. She earned her public accounting certification (CPA) from the California Board of Accountancy. Her specialties include governmental auditing and accounting for retirement systems, transits, nonprofits, and special districts.
Ashley currently works as the chair of the audit quality committee for Brown Armstrong. The committee’s goal is to ensure consistent quality in all audits and that the required standards are met. They do this by holding meetings with all partners and managers several times a year to ensure all staff is educated on current requirements. This quality control ensures that each audit adheres to the same standards, helping our clients achieve the kind of consistency they rely on to keep their financials in order.
She is actively involved in a number of professional organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance, and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). Ashley is a past recipient of the 2018 Woman to Watch Emerging Leader award presented by AICPA and CalCPA. She has served on the CalCPA State Board and has been the President, Vice President, and former board member for the CalCPA San Joaquin Chapter. She enjoys volunteering on the CalCPA Financial Literacy State Committee and CalCPA Governmental Accounting and Auditing State Committee. To stay updated on recent trends that affect her current clients, Ashley also attends conferences such as the State Association of County Retirement Systems, California Society of Municipal Finance Officers, California Special Districts Association, and the California Association of Public Retirement Systems.
Ashley lives in Stockton, California, and when she is not working, she always enjoys the challenge of playing sports of all kinds as well as hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. On a recent visit to the five national parks in Utah of July 2020, she and her now husband, Christopher, got engaged at Zion National Park.
With a passion to serve, Ashley involves herself in the community by participating on boards, volunteering to teach financial literacy for any audience, and making college presentations to Accounting Societies or classes about auditing. She also enjoys serving at church, working with Stockton Chamber’s Business Education Alliance by teaching about careers in accounting, and collaborating with Love Stockton to help make Stockton a better place. She currently serves as the Treasurer for nonprofits such as Love Unlocked and the Alpha Chi Sorority Alumni Association.
Ashley ensures the highest level of service for all of her clients with a “hands-on” approach. Believing each client is important, she works hard to be present in all areas while serving them. Ashley emphasizes treating each client uniquely since each one will have different needs. She makes herself available whenever needed, from answering questions about accounting standards and audits to providing general advice about sound controls.
