Andy Paulden is a long-time Brown Armstrong partner with 35 years of governmental and commercial auditing and tax experience. He graduated from California State University, Chico, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting, and joined the firm in 1985. Andy became a partner in 1994, and his primary attest responsibilities focus on governmental and employee retirement system audits and accounting, and he handles numerous tax clients from a broad range of industries.
Andy actively participates in various professional organizations such as the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers, the Government Finance Officers’ Association (GFOA), and the State Association of County Retirement Systems (SACRS). Andy enthusiastically heads our participation as an associate member in SACRS, and sponsoring member in the California Association of Public Retirement Systems (CALAPRS). Participation in these organizations allows him to remain current on all administrative, legal, and accounting issues impacting retirement systems.
In his free time, Andy enjoys traveling, hunting and fishing, outdoor sports, and spending time with his family. He has been married to his wife, Colleen, for 27 years, and they have two daughters, one who is a veterinarian and another enrolled in law school at Baylor University. Andy also serves as a board member and treasurer for the Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, a non-profit that works to raise funds for the hospital and community members.
As a seasoned member of the firm, Andy has had the pleasure of turning many clients into friends, and friends into clients, over the years. With a hands-on approach, he develops a personal relationship and interest in each client’s success as it relates to their financial well-being. He takes pride in responding quickly to client needs and being able to provide accurate, honest advice they can trust to assist in their financial decisions.
