Charlie McCarthy has over 10 years of experience in the accounting field. Before joining Brown Armstrong as a partner in January 2022, she worked as a staff accountant for the company with a focus in tax preparation, auditing, and the other accounting services required by our diverse clientele. Charlie has obtained not-forprofit certification from the AICPA and specializes in exempt organizations. Her other tax areas include trusts and estates, business, and individual returns.
Charlie attended California State University, Bakersfield, and she graduated in 2010 with a business degree with a concentration in accounting. Before Brown Armstrong, she worked in a variety of different fields, including as a firefighter and social worker. These varied experiences helped her learn how to work with all types of people, which has proven invaluable in her accounting career.
Dedicated to giving back to her community, Charlie is involved in several boards, including Transitional Youth Mobilizing for Change and Henrietta Weill Memorial Child Guidance Clinic. She is also a Treasurer for CalCPA’s Bakersfield chapter and enjoys contributing to community events. In her spare time, Charlie loves being outdoors, running marathons, and spending time with family.
